Mascot Missives

Deer Valley Resort’s newest broody mascot Eddie the moose is now a plush star of an exclusive kiddie book launch, and the family‑friendly gala has turned the resort’s Winter social calendar into a scene‑set parade of status.

Deer Valley Resort, a titan of winter leisure, this winter introduced the dapper new mascot Eddie the moose, a plush embodiment of its alpine charm. The event—an all‑family meet‑and‑greet in the Snow Park base area—was as meticulously choreographed as a runway show, complete with a photo booth, cotton‑candy aroma and a pop‑up shop selling the freshly inked “Meeting of the Mascots: An Adventure Story & Coloring Book” and an Eddie plushy. Carly Driscoll, the resort’s Marketing DIRECTOR, displayed a polite patina, announcing the collaboration with Arts Council Park City & Summit County in the same breath as the buffet of refreshments.

Atmospherically, the venue adhered to Deer Valley’s trademark aloof sophistication: valet service arrived in seconds, the lighting painted the pine‑scented air with amber‑hued glow, and the ambient noise of skiers was neatly muted by plexiglass decors. The crowd was a procession of status‑seeking families, napkins folded not on the table but in the hands of parents as they tried to stay in line for the limited edition plush. It’s locally sticky: the guests lingered, the brand’s presence was palpable, and the plush sealant of tradition was strong.

For dining, order the cotton‑candy—its original, unbleached flavor—at the front‑corner table opposite the exit and request a seat near the Snow Park deck so you can keep an eye on the mascot’s latest frolic.
