Starlit Ostentation

On the 13th, a cerulean sky and freshly groomed snow invite the disciplined glide of a select few.

On the morning of the 13th, the sky presented a cerulean expanse punctuated by streaks of amber from the distant sun. The snow, freshly groomed to the texture of a freshly pressed linen suit, lay in a carpet of silence, inviting only the disciplined glide of the committed. The Carpenter lift, its tower a faded yellow sentinel, whirred quietly as it sent a cadre of tense faces aloft toward the summit. From there, the Silver Lake lift offered a mirror of icy blue that reflected the mountain's stoic face, its cables humming in perfect melodic symmetry. The Empire lift, crowned with a mercury‑colored cloud halo, revealed the flagship run, Goblin's Crest, bunched with a purity that echoed the silence we cherish. In all, the runs of Angelic Apex and Moonlit Glade remained untouched, solitary corridors of white, untouched by the restless currents of the Ikon Pass crowd that sometimes burst forth from the village. The snow crystals laid themselves as dew on my visor, a quiet witness to the quietness that is my purpose. The runners, though silent, brushed a faint echo across the fences. The humming of the lifts was the only assembled song. To maintain the sanctity of a solitary descent, glide first to the top of the Empire lift and carve the Goblin's Crest run, a path that keeps the masses confined to the lower ridges.
