Teen Rock Parade

At the Park City Community Church, the teenage ensemble The Kin burst onto a stage that has never wanted applause, a place usually occupied by Sunday sermons and the occasional chorus from an elderly choir. The choir, however, was replaced by six nervous rafters: Danny Nolan leading vocals, Steele Stark on lead guitar, Kaden Gourley on drums, Kellan Gourley on rhythm, John Santarosa on bass, and Augie DePaul on keys. All of them are students of Park City High School and the Winter Sports School, a school that, in a glorious coincidence, houses athletes who usually practice in the snow. The obstacle to attending, unlike Sundance, is not a labyrinthine traffic journalistic press pass; the bell toll’s modest. The crowd is a glowing medley of parents, local real‑estate brokers, and a handful of peckish investors from Park Silly who wanted to buy a bone of fame. In perfect step‑and‑repeat red, the corridor glimmers. Verdict: Stay home and send a check, lest you become part of the crushed Main Street crowd.
