Souza noted Fort Lewis College’s rebuild as appealing, while Breza, with a senior baseball season still ahead, appreciated the weight lifted from his shoulders. The sentiment, if not original, was sincere. Josh Monzingo’s coaching impact was repeatedly cited, alongside familial support, as crucial to their development. The scale was appropriately modest – a local event, locally attended. The backdrop’s crisp colors couldn’t quite mask the late-winter light filtering through the cafeteria windows.
