Silently, mantle of white stretches beyond the rust‑brown ridges, barely disturbed by the swoosh of the Carpenter lift pushing its pale, mercury‑coloured chairs up the nearest face. Down the side, the Empire express ascends the exposure, its polished steel columns refracting the sun into a pale halo that echoes the clean edges of groomed runs. The ambient hum of the Silver Lake high‑speed gondola is reduced to the quiet hiss of air as it arcs over crevasses, carrying a few weekend visitors yet keeping the crowded zone at bay. Grooming crew left the snow with a texture resembling freshly pressed linen, each pass leaving a fringe of tidiness along the run line. The Quad Truck as well as the Twin Trail, which have often shared the same whitespace, feel surprisingly balmy in the absence of the Ikon Pass crowd. Beneath the cobalt sky, the runner underfoot whispers lavender‑tinted sweeps, calling to those who seek narrowing lanes rather than packs. With an eye on the white horizon, the most practical next step is to descend the quieter Saddleback run first, before the masses gather at the downtree.

Corduroy groomed, silence persists
The sky remains a flawless cerulean, while the silver‑grey towers of the Carpenter, Silver Lake, and Empire lifts stand aloof amid a world of immaculate corduroy.
