The Canyons Village Management Association has once again turned its slow‑moving pole to a glittering extravaganza: Silver Sky Nights, the gondola art stroll, and the brand‑new GLOW installation. It opens Friday, December 19, and the crowd, already half‑pinned to velvet ropes, furiously competes for the chance to step onto the gondolas, each a pastel‑washed sculpture painted by Anna Leigh Moore, Elizabeth Walsh, and the duo of Ashley Brown & Merlin Erickson. The prize is an oblong jet‑black plaque noting one’s presence in the only place where the snow is more ceremonial than sports. Under In Theory Art Studios’ Prismatic Portals, the parade is punctuated by minuscule LEDs that read “No Truce Until Dark” to a crowd of clinking champagne glasses. Yet the event still resembles a battleground of cut‑out faces: a snarl of Ivy Queen fans and a cadre of paparazzi parroting the same squeaky lipstick scent. The gala’s dress code demands gala black and flute‑glass gold, while a small section of jazz patrons swims to the only acoustic space at Pendry Plaza.
